A World Bank assisted agency, Health System Development Project II (HSDP II) has ordered the procurement of four utility vehicles worth N27 million for the development of FCT health sector.
The HSDP II Project Manager, Dr Jamilu Isa Yankwashi, who disclosed this yesterday at the biding process for the vehicles procurement, said the efforts is to complement the health and social development secretariat as well as help the FCT authorities in delivering effective health services to communities.
According to him, the four vehicles are to be distributed to the School of Midwifery, Gwagwalada; Abuja Central Medical Stores; Committee for the Monitoring of Abuja Free Anti-natal Services and FCT Health Planning, Research and Statistics Department, adding that the vehicles will make distribution of drugs and movement of health services monitoring personnel effective in the FCT health sector.
Dr Jamilu warned the participants not to influence the process, saying that the HSDP II is not interested in who will win the bid but in how transparent the process is.
Responding on behalf of the participants, Mr Nzeakor Chima of A T & S Investment Ltd commended HSDP II for the transparency of the bid process as well as keeping to the rules of the exercise.
Three companies, Pavillion Motors Limited, A T & S Investment Ltd and Obivi Ventures Ltd met the deadline, while three other companies’ bids were rejected for late submission as stipulated in the HSDP II procurement guidelines.
