The first time the case came up, counsel to the accused appealed for out of court settlement but the matter was not resolved.
Prosecuting counsel, Inspector Philips Akogwu, yesterday urged the court to continue with the hearing as the accused person has failed in the settlement process.
The prosecutor said the accused person’s lawyer informed him on phone that N1.5 million has been approved for the repair of the damaged car as against N2.5 million asked for by the nominal complainant, adding that he doesn’t know why the money has not being paid to the complainant.
Also responding, the complainant, Oluwayose Dupe, told the court that she has not heard anything from the accused since the last adjournment, while the prosecutor prayed for continuation of the case since the other party is not showing interest in reconciliation.
Magistrate Asmau Yusuf granted the prosecutor’s request and adjourned the case to August 4 for hearing.
